There has been a lot of confusion and fear surrounding the H1N1 Flu and H1N1 vaccine lately. On October 23rd President Obama, with all due respect, added to the confusion when he announced a health emergency, when during the previous weeks and months the CDC had announced that the H1N1 flu was not as severe as the seasonal flu. Some experts say the H1N1 vaccine is safe, others say it is potentially very dangerous. What is the truth?

Please take the time to listen to this entire video. We all trust our medical system and our government agencies to give us factual information regarding health issues. In this instance there seems to be a large amount of conflicting information when you compare what is being said by the government and the press to the facts in the CDC's own documentation and other reliable sources (discussed in this interview).  All medical procedures have a risk and a perceived benefit associated with them and vaccines are no different. With accurate information we can decide for ourselves if the risk of a disease is greater than the risk of the medical treatment, in this case the H1N1 vaccination.

Another fact that is not discussed in the interview is that there was a petition filed against the FDA on Oct. 9th to rescind the approval of the H1N1 vaccine because it was rushed through production and many of the normal safety checks  required by the FDA were waived to speed it through. Liability to the vaccine manufacturers in a  case resulting in vaccine injury or death  was also waived by the government.
